Noted Dunning-Kruger Study hailed by Dunning and Kruger

Cornell University scientists Justin Kruger and David Dunning recently proclaimed their widely-publicized Dunning-Kruger study on metacognitive ability to be among the top 1% of all important scientific studies of the last 100 years. Additionally they estimate they are among the most highly-skilled researchers in the world, ever, partly due to the obvious lack of skill of other researchers but mostly due to their own complete mastery of the field of psychology and all related sciences. “There’s pretty much nothing left to learn, I think we’ve covered it all,” Justin Kruger was quoted as saying. “Game. Set. Match. Tournament.”

Dr. Dunning shrugged his shoulders. “No one else ever noticed the Dunning-Kruger effect before…I guess it just goes to show how brainy we really are, compared to all the other lame researchers who are befuddled by the apparent complexity of the human mind.”

Dunning and Kruger received the Ig Nobel Prize in 2000 for their report, “Unskilled and Unaware of It: How Difficulties in Recognizing One’s Own Incompetence Lead to Inflated Self-Assessments.”

“And the awards keep coming!” Dunning crowed. According to the two researchers, it is only a matter of time before they receive the famed “Nobel Prize in Psychology.”

Kruger smiled,”Finland here we come.”
